Windows Networking in Portland Oregon

  • Microsoft Server networks require specialized training to set up or maintain. They should not be tinkered with by someone that is not very familiar with Microsoft Server 2000, Server 2003, Exchange server, etc.

  • Peer to peer networks are not nearly as complex, but can challenge technicians in a different way than networks with an actual server. Peer to peer networks cannot grow to more than 10 users without some limitations.

Portland peer to peer or server support -

Call the number above to get computer help, and make the appropriate choice from the menu, based on your location and needs.

Windows Servers

Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 server networks are complex, and can be set up in dozens of different ways.

Using a knowledgeable and experienced Microsoft Certified Network Engineer (MCSE) should be your number one priority, assuring you an appropriate level of competence.

For Microsoft server environments, I only recommend certified technicians.

Peer to peer networking

Many Portland and Vancouver networks are set up to simply share files, share printers, and connect to the users internet. Using no actual "server", you are operating in a "peer to peer' environment.

The level of expertise (and the hourly rates) required to maintain your network is not nearly as high, and I have several affiliates in and around the Portland area that I recommend. Call the number above for help right now.

Microsoft Exchange Server

Portland and Vancouver businesses now increasingly rely on Microsoft Outlook and Exchange server to keep employees connected to their email and their networks from anywhere in the world. In this type of environment, security is absolutely essential.

All computer work is documented

Good vendors provide written documentation of all of their computer work. This means you have a basic understanding of how your network is set up, and you have full access and password rights to all of your own computers for emergencies.

  • Hardware and software support

  • PDA integration

  • Issue Specific Troubleshooting

  • Spyware & virus removal and prevention

  • Establish a backup routine

  • Remote network and email access

  • New system migration

  • Monthly system maintenance

How much will all this cost?

The hourly rates vary by your needs and the experience level required for your particular job.
