Google is doing another update, and it seems that their index is getting bigger. I noticed this because a search term I watch closely has gone from 9 million results found, to over 21 million total. Another has gone from about 25 million to over 41 million results.

This might be a reaction to Yahoo recently tripling the size of their index, but that seems silly because now Yahoo is even more full of garbage than they were before, with pages and pages of those worthless directories and ads. Sites without content are pollution.

Or, it could be because that’s what always happens during “The Google Dance”. I’m not sure, because I never noticed it before. I ‘m sure I could go look it up at Search Engine Watch, but I’ll wait four days and let you know.

*update – 9/14 –
It’s over, and the results have stayed at 21 million for the term “internet computer consultant” when they were at only 9 million before. Hmmm. It’s nice to see that I’ve remained on top though! I’ve also moved to number 23 out of 44 million for “internet consultant”. i’ll have to try to work on that one…
