77% of people find blogs useful for shopping

12th November 2005

This blog entry at Majordomo.com cites a BBC article where a survey claims that 77% of people find blogs useful for shopping…and I thought I was on to something unique!

Today I bought a folding keyboard for my Treo 650 and I used a couple of different blogs to look at reviews and comments form others about the products. Blogs really have changed the way the internet works, and your customers are starting to expect them.

If you’re still thinking abbout adding a blog to your website, or even using a blog AS your website, stop waiting already and go do it. People are waiting for you!

Blogs that contain information about products like reviews are usefull. Mostly because the opinions are less likely to be skewed or biased. While looking for some new computer systems online, I hit a few sites that had the computer model I was looking for. The site also had reviews on the PC. The vendor could have very easily pop in a few reviews to bring up the review score. Since blogs are more of a moving target, or at least a dynamic over the internet, it would be harder to track all the sites down that may have a review of am item an bias it into their favour.
    Thank You,

I think that Blogs that contain information about products like reviews are very useful and it’s much easier to promote them.
