{"id":493,"date":"2007-11-20T16:30:46","date_gmt":"2007-11-20T23:30:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pdxtc.com\/wpblog\/conferences\/party-like-a-rockstar-winner-everyone\/"},"modified":"2014-12-04T13:37:38","modified_gmt":"2014-12-04T20:37:38","slug":"party-like-a-rockstar-winner-everyone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pdxtc.com\/wpblog\/conferences\/party-like-a-rockstar-winner-everyone\/","title":{"rendered":"Party Like A Rockstar Winner&#8230; Everyone?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>How lame is it that Microsoft chose &#8220;Party like a rock star&#8221; as the theme of their Webmaster World party this year?<\/p>\n<p>Shoemoney (Jeremy Shoemaker) ran a contest he called, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.shoemoney.com\/2007\/10\/24\/come-to-vegas-party-like-a-rockstar-at-pubcon-on-us\/\" target=\"_blank\">Party like a rock star<\/a>&#8221; paying the airfare, hotel bill, conference admission, and %400 cash for one lucky winner, and he got quite a few entries, quite a bit of blog buzz, and created a pretty good thing, in my opinion. (Yesterday he announced his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shoemoney.com\/2007\/11\/19\/laura-martin-is-going-to-party-like-a-rockstar-in-vegas\/\">winner<\/a>, which was <a href=\"http:\/\/lauramartinonline.com\/time-to-party-like-a-rockstar-in-vegas-with-shoemoney.html\" target=\"_blank\">Laura Martin<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>Just now via e-mail I got an invitation (exclusive, no doubt \ud83d\ude09 to the Microsoft Ad Center party, and they are calling it &#8220;Party like a Rock Star&#8221; also.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t think that takes away anything from Shoe&#8217;s contest, but really, are they so far out of the loop that they didn&#8217;t know this contest was going on?<\/p>\n<p>I suppose Microsoft can do whatever they want, just like Google does, but I think it shows somewhat of an &#8220;unawareness&#8221; about the community of attendees at the conference. I won&#8217;t hold it against them though, and I&#8217;ll be there anyway, partying like a (aging) rockstar&#8230;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pdxtc.com\/wpblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/pubcon-ms-ad-center-invite.gif\" title=\"pubcon-ms-ad-center-invite.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pdxtc.com\/wpblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/msn-rockstar.jpg\" alt=\"msn-rockstar.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How lame is it that Microsoft chose &#8220;Party like a rock star&#8221; as the theme of their Webmaster World party this year?
