{"id":438,"date":"2007-10-08T14:14:46","date_gmt":"2007-10-08T21:14:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pdxtc.com\/wpblog\/archives\/438"},"modified":"2014-12-04T13:37:46","modified_gmt":"2014-12-04T20:37:46","slug":"a-great-event-for-a-great-cause","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pdxtc.com\/wpblog\/general-interest\/a-great-event-for-a-great-cause\/","title":{"rendered":"A Great Event for a Great Cause"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Unfortunately, I won&#8217;t be attending the <a href=\"http:\/\/searchmarketingexpo.com\/social\/\" target=\"_blank\">SMX social media event in new York city<\/a> next week, and now I&#8217;m even more disappointed.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;ve ever regretted not going to a specific event so much before, and not just because I&#8217;m missing great content, but because this is a great way to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.im-ny.org\/events.html\" target=\"_blank\">spend an evening in support of a good cause<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you are going to be at SMX in New York then you absolutely have to go, and donate $40 at the door of this event to support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society&#8217;s  fight against cancer.  Attendees will have three hours of open bar partying with fellow marketers.<\/p>\n<p>I got tagged on this post by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.toddmintz.com\" target=\"_blank\">Todd Mintz<\/a>, and I&#8217;m doing my part by tagging three others &#8211;  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marketingpilgrim.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Andy<\/a>  &#8211;  <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.seorevolution.com\" target=\"_blank\">Jerry<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scottfish.com\" target=\"_blank\">Scott<\/a> and you can see the incredible amount of community support this is getting at <a href=\"http:\/\/sphinn.com\/story\/8623\" target=\"_blank\">Sphinn<br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Unfortunately, I won&#8217;t be attending the SMX social media event in new York city next week, and now I&#8217;m even more disappointed.
