From the days when I owned a computer store in Portland Oregon, I’m still a Microsoft partner, and it was past my renewal.<\/p>\n

While logged in to the Microsoft partner site, I attempt a renewal, and here’s the message I get…<\/p>\n

You are using an unsupported Internet browser. Please use the most recent non-beta version of Internet Explorer to access this page. If you continue you will likely experience performance issues. Please <\/em>download<\/em><\/a> (link removed here) this supported version or proceed <\/em> to the PMC page you requested.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

What seems to be the problem? I’m running a 100% updated version of Internet Explorer 6, which is NOT a beta release of IE7, and that’s never been on my machine.<\/p>\n

I decided to follow the link, thinking that perhaps, I really needed updating. Of course the link took me to the IE6 Service Pack 1 page, from 2002, and any attmpted installation failed with a message telling me I had a newer version.<\/p>\n

Then I followed the link for “Get the latest version of Internet Explorer for your PC from Microsoft Update<\/em>” and that went to the update site, which told me I was current.<\/p>\n
