{"id":191,"date":"2006-03-27T09:27:02","date_gmt":"2006-03-27T16:27:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pdxtc.com\/wpblog\/archives\/191"},"modified":"2014-12-04T13:54:27","modified_gmt":"2014-12-04T20:54:27","slug":"microsoft-voice-command-via-bluetooth-headset","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pdxtc.com\/wpblog\/cell-phones-pdas\/microsoft-voice-command-via-bluetooth-headset\/","title":{"rendered":"Microsoft Voice Command via Bluetooth registry hack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I just bought\u00a0a &#8220;new&#8221; version of Voice Command (July 2005!) and I incorrectly assumed that Voice Command would work via Bluetooth by now, and frankly, I&#8217;m shocked that it doesn&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>Although the software is great, and will announce upcoming appointments, and react to spoken commands quite well, it&#8217;s amazing\u00a0that you still have to physically pick up the\u00a0phone and push buttons to initiate the program, even though you&#8217;re connected wirelessly via a BT headset.\u00a0 Come ON, Microsoft, get it together already!<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a great <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.msdn.com\/windowsmobile\/archive\/2006\/02\/03\/524289.aspx?\">article From Microsoft <\/a>explaining WHY Bluetooth\u00a0doesn&#8217;t work with Microsoft Voice Command, and here&#8217;s the registry hack that *might* make it work\u00a0 for you &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>DO THIS ONLY AT YOUR OWN RISK! ( I did not\u00a0try yet, but lots of people sem to have made it function. Howeverm, they all have other complaints now, so i&#8217;m leaving it alone)<\/p>\n<p><em>Open up a registry entry program such as Resco Registry that comes with Resco Explorer 2005. Then go to &#8220;HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\OEM\\VoiceCommand\\Path&#8221;. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Change the default value from &#8220;\\Windows\\SDDialer.exe&#8221; to &#8220;\\Program Files\\Voice Command\\VoiceCMD.exe&#8221;.
