Don’t you hate those online ads that look like security warnings or questions? Have you ever fallen for them? I just actually fell for one, while I was buying a site security certificate for a new website we’re doing.<\/p>\n
I was filling out an online form, and had just entered my credit card number. I hit “next” and a second window popped up that looked identical to the form I was filling out.<\/p>\n
When I hit “continue” from that point, I was taken to another website, where I almost\u00a0submitted the ALREADY PRE-FILLED OUT\u00a0application for a new service I didn’t want that would have cost another $19.99 a year.<\/p>\n
This type of ad isn’t brand new, but they’re getting better at fooling people.\u00a0Just like\u00a0the physical junk mail you get that looks exactly like an invoice, then in small print you’ll \u00a0notice “This is not a bill”, <\/em>it doesn’t seem to be illegal either.<\/p>\n The scammers are getting trickier.
