Thanks! This definitely helps. The Dish DVR is soooo much better in many different ways. I’m not crazy about Comcast at all, but most homeowners and hoa’s don’t like dishes installed onto the building for the look and the damage (they believe) to the structure.

Does anyone know if you can rename recordings on your Comcast DVR? I was able to do this on DishNetwork and it was a great feature.

On the Motorola 3400 for Comcast, if you have captions on, it is hard to see the menus. Any suggestions?

I had programmed my old ATLAS OCAP 5 remote for a 20 second skip using 994 and 00173. I haven’t been able to do it with a new UR3-SR3 remote from Time Warner. Any help appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, firmware upgrades took place – my remotes did the same thing, although i hadn’t reprogrammed those buttons – I’m not sure how / what to do about it, or if you can reprogram or overwrite them or not.

Just stumbled across this today looking for something else. I just had Comcast installed with the HD DVR and “platinum” remote and I used Allan’s tip and had it programmed in seconds!

As far as changing it to AUX from Cable, I didn’t have an Aux device set up but just selected the button like I would if I was going to power on/off my TV using the TV button. Not sure if it was needed or not but it was simple and figured if it worked I’d just go ahead and do it
