When my friend Steve Shank at Oregon Computer Solutions emailed me about an SEO toolbar he found from RankQuest, I admit I wasn’t that excited, because I thought I already had everything I needed, and knew where to find everything else I needed. However, it turns out I was wrong, and after installing it this morning, I really like it. It’s been around for quite a while, and I’m sorry that I never checked it out before!
In addition to a wide variety of custom developed meta tools, content tools, validation and popularity tools they’ve built, they’ve partnered with other well known and very useful websites. For example, you can instantly search any important search engine, blog directory, image directory, bookmarks (like Wikipedia, Delicious etc.), and even Dictionary.com and their Thesaurus, which I use a lot.
There’s also an XML site map generator (AutoMapit), Whois report (Domain dossier), domain/server report (Netcraft.com), and the Digital Point Adsense Sandbox tool.
With over 30 different features, the Rankquest toolbar is not only for Firefox either, it can be downloaded for Internet Explorer, and there’s an options section ala the Google toolbar so you can disable things you don’t want.
I’ll still keep using Search Status, but my browser has a new resident toolbar now, that’s going to get a lot of use, and save me a lot of time. Anyone serious about saving a ton of time should check it out…
