Are you feeling guilty because you have improved your rankings unfairly? Have you bought links? Exchanged goods or services for reviews?

Have you commented on blog posts, or maybe participated in forums when you didn’t even feel all that strongly, but you did it in an attempt to manipulate the search results through gaining backlinks?

Maybe you’ve hired a company who promised to make you rank, but you know they’ve done some of these same things on your behalf!

Even though it’s probably working, and you’re reaping the benefits of higher rankings, you must feel pretty bad, right? I mean, how can you sleep?

Everyone knows that the internet would be a better place, if links would only accumulate naturally, through the benevolent generosity of webmasters and bloggers. That’s why Google and other moral authorities have made it easy to turn in competitors, but there’s never been a way to assuage your own guilt, until now.

We all know there’s a special place in Hells sandbox for people that violate Google’s Webmaster Guidelines, and I sure don’t want to go there, so I’ve launched a new business, allowing you, the site owner to rat yourself out, and do some good for the planet.

When you rat yourself out and turn in those ill gotten profits that you gained at the expense of others, we’ll use at least 30% of your money to buy carbon credits, which will help not only the internet, but the entire world.

Today Gmail Motion was released…
I just tested this out on my laptop, because it has a built in camera. If it werent for frosted glass on the door, I could have used it in the shower! Absolutely amazing…

I’m proud to announce that my son got a part time job at Google…
Because of the connections I have in the search industry, my son was able to get one of the earliest spots, before Google went public today with this offer…

Here’s the video he watched that peaked his interest in the first place…

I clicked through to ratyourselfout.com. Not for myself of course (I don’t need to), but to see if anyone else had. Has anyone? I don’t see any results…
BTW, its a very funny website and a great way of making your point!
      Kudos to you.

      This campaign is hilarious :)

Sincerly participating in forums is not manipulation … but this is my own opinion :)

This was a rather funny write-up… I can only assume it was done in satire. If not, here’s a quick back link for ya :0

It is a costly practice also to buy backlinks and forum post. If the effort is put towards good webmaster work there would be honest results from the effort.

Are we politicians who need to buy our way to the top?

I don’t think you are right at all . You can’t blame someone that is trying to make a living , and to do that he is in need of traffic / people / customers . and that means SEO . I don’t think that posting and backlinking should make you feel bad at all , it’s a competition , this is the law of nature .
