When you’re trying to build links for a real estate site you have to give people a reason to link to you, by providing valuable information that their own visitors will appreciate.

Scott, GREAT review. The value of internal anchor text cannot be underestimated. For small, geographically-focused businesses who get a few directory links (Best of the Web, Business.com, JoeAnt, etc., as well as a few local ones) and have good “SEO fundamentals,” well thought-out internal anchor text should be enough to rank them VERY well.
