I’ve actually been told by people on numerous occasions that they can “guarantee number one search positions”, and “Google doesn’t actually ban websites” and usually, I’m too busy to argue.

Invariably, these claims come from telephone sales people selling internet traffic, or placement, or rankings, etc, and they get referred to me from existing customers of mine to see if they can help my client.

Matt Cutts is a Google lead engineer, and he has confirmed not only that an unscrupulous SEO company (Traffic Power) was banned, but so were all of their clients.

The moral of the story? Make sure you’re dealing with a reputable firm using only 100% “White Hat” ethical SEO practices.

Disclosure:
Some of the links on this website and possibly even in this article may be affiliate links. That does not in any way discount my recommendation, and I do not accept paid reviews. It's simply impossible and unreasonable to mention each possible affiliation individually, so please try to get over it ;-)
