Hey Scott,

Your blog is very interesting & you make it for people who have little knowledge about internet marketing very interesting.

I noticed that we are very much into the same interests so I wanted to drop by and say hello. My name is Reginald & I am into the internet marketing business too. I also work for the Federal Govt but I look forward to retiring really soon.

The economy is really bad these days but unbeknownst to many, they can have financial stability thru MLM. Sadly, a lot of people think most MLMs are scams. If only they they'd open their eyes & try to understand MLM & its concepts better...I'm sure they'll be on their way to financial freedom.

Please Drop by my site & say hi! http://tinyurl.com/mesvrv

I look forward to connecting with you.

Awesome list Scott! Especially #7, there are a lot of people that just need to be tuned out or turned off if they are not offering good information.

To try start this year off right, I made a list of my resolutions and turned it into a sale at resolutionsale.com, my first sale ever! So far the sale is going somewhat slow, probably due to the holidays and my difficulty in reaching JV partners, but the sale is converting at 3% and the OTO is converting at 85% so I can only hope that will keep up!

Happy New Year, blessings to all!

Scott -

I have found your blog twice in the last week in search engines (G). A few days ago I found your video about changing permalinks with a plugin for WordPress so I see your following #8...and it's working.

This time I was just doing a little searching on New Year's Resolutions and found your post. I just made a post on my blog poking fun at New Year's Resolutions which are nothing more than goals. People who make goals once per year aren't as successful as those who put their goals in writing monthly, weekly, or even daily. I generally have a list of goals for the day jotted down most days not just around New Year's Day.

That's great advice PF, and very true. The only thing written in stone, that you can count on, is the inconsistency of the SERPS.

Thanks for taking the time to write, too...

Great list and great links to advice sites.

I just want to add my 2 cents to the list too evaluate the research of SEO experts better. As a former scientist, I had good research technique beaten into my brain for many years, so it bugs me when I see SEO marketing experiments done by SEO experts that are done very poorly and then see claims on the results of their experiments that are way beyond what the experiment could possibly have shown.

Most SEO experts do what we scientists called "quick and dirty experiments" where only one site was used for testing, not several, and without a negative control (another site with everything the same as the test site except for the one SEO procedure you are testing the effectiveness of not being done to use as a comparison).

Also there is no replication of the SEO experiment to prove that you get the same result over and over when you do the SEO procedure that supposedly did or did not work. Even then, a scientist would not say "Google is obviously doing XYZ" but would say "this experiment suggests that Google is doing XYZ".

I never see them get past the quick and dirty experiments to do clean ones where real results could be determined let alone see other individuals try to replicate what was done on their own.

I love jumping to conclusions as much or more than the next person, but when your money or someone elses money is on the line it is best not to believe someone who has done so.
