AOL cuts off the original email in it’s users replies, presumably to save storage space. This makes it impossible to tell what the AOL sender is replying to, and is generally inconvenient for all. This is especially true when the AOL user takes a few days to reply and you’ve forgotten the original subject or question.
If you regularly correspond with people on AOL, then you know the frustration that you feel as you sort through your sent mail folder, trying to figure out what they’re anwering you about.
I’m writing this now, becasue I just spent 10 minutes sorting through 30+ emails in my “sent folder” looking for one particular question that I had asked a customer about a group of photos.
This was critical information, telling me which photos to use on which pages of a new website, yet since I couldn’t see my questions, I was completely lost, and forced to look through my sent mail folder.
AOL users listen up! If you’re going to insist on conducting business on your AOL account, then the rest of us need you to respond differently, please…
To quote the original message in a reply with AOL:
- Open the message you want to reply to in AOL.
- Highlight the message (or part) that you want to include in your reply with the mouse.
- Click Reply.
That’s it! It’s not hard at all and even your friends and family will appreciate it (and so will I).
