Search Engine Marketers of Portland (SEMpdx) has announced officially that its first networking event will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at Portland Oregon’s Hotel Deluxe from 5:00 to 7:30 PM. Most of the SEMpdx board members, (including myself), will be on hand to answer questions, and to tell attendees more about varios membership benefits, upcoming events, and sponsorship opportunities over. Appetizers will be provided by Gracie’s, and there will be a no-host bar. |

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Portland Advertising Federation. On November 16th, all the major local advertising talent will be on hand at this year’s Rosey Awards, celebrating the best campaigns of the year. Local band Dirty Martini will entertain the crowd during the show, and radio personalities Mike Chase and Amy Faust will be the emcees. |

The Oregon Comuter Consultants Association (OCCA) is a vast pool of local knowledge. I am not a Firefox whiz, but for the past year, use it almost exclusively. Several months ago, a secure site stopped logging me in. Actually, it appeared to log in fine, but all I saw was a white screen. To this day, if i want to log in to that site, I have to use IE on my current PC. |

I am proud to be affiliated with a recently formed new group made up of Portland’s top search marketers. Our goal is to increase the visibility of Portland Oregon as a search engine marketing industry hub, and to educate Portland’s business community about search engine marketing. Yesterday, it was reported that… “Oregon Department of Revenue officials thought they were tightly secured against data theft. ” Then they went on to say that  ”an employee from using an office computer to surf porn sites and download a Trojan horse, a hidden spyware program not yet known to intrusion-detection software. The Trojan installed itself Jan. 5 and for the next four months secretly captured and relayed data to the hackers who created it.” |
