Jesse Black, of Yellow Crayon Computer Services submitted this tip below to the OCCA (Oregon Computer Consulatants Association) membership list. I also got a customer emails asking me how to fix this, so I thought I’d post Jesse’s tip below. This is another reason why, on the West Side of Portland, I refer my all of my home computer repair and peer to peer networking phone calls to Jesse Black, at 971-645-1139. Tell him Scott sent ya! |

I got an email this morning telling me that Winpatrol was not helping with their Spam, and they were still getting a lot. I explained that Winpatrol is not for spam, but did refer them to Spam Arrest. Spam Arrest will stop 100% of your spam, guaranteed, for up to 5 email addresses, and they’ll even give you a 30 day free trial! |

Almost 5 years ago, I wrote an article called “How to call tech support”, and I still think it’s relevant. However, there’s one thing I left out. *update - Now at 6pm, not 5pm for those that care! The spyware news story that I assisted with this summer will be airing tonight at 5pm on KGW News 8. The news director phoned me yesterday and asked if I would do an online chat session immediately following the story. That should be kind of neat, and I’ll be interested to see how much traffic my site gets tonight… |

When installing any scripts on your domain, you may get an error saying something like this - FTP’d to it with your FTP software, right click, go to CHMOD and enable the needed check boxes for read, write and execute. Now it’s writable. |

Here’s a quick tip to be more productive at your desk… When I open my email program in the morning, my new email does not pour in until I ask for it with the “send and receive” button. This gives me a chance to look through everything critical in my in box from the day before. |
